Pro and Teams say "starts at 10M" tokens because you can pick a larger monthly allowance with a slider when you subscribe, and the price goes up with it. [1][3] Bolt's billing help page uses tiers such as Pro 50 ($50 a month, 26M tokens) and Pro 100 ($100 a month, 55M tokens) in its examples. The pricing page itself only lists the 10M starting tier, so check the slider for the exact price of bigger tiers. [3]
Why you see both $18 and $25
Bolt's pricing page opens on monthly billing, where Pro is $25/mo. Switch to Yearly and Pro shows $18/mo, charged as $216 up front. That's the "save up to 28%" Bolt mentions. On Teams the yearly saving is smaller: $27 instead of $30 per member. With either option your tokens still arrive monthly. [1] Annual plans can only be upgraded to a higher annual plan, not switched to monthly mid-term. [3]
How Bolt tokens work
- What uses tokens: Bolt spends tokens when it reads your prompt and project files, plans and writes code. Most of the usage comes from reading and syncing your project, so larger projects cost more tokens per message. [2]
- Resets: Free tokens reset on the 1st of each month, and the 300K daily cap resets every day without carrying over. Paid plans reset on your renewal date. [2]
- Rollover: on paid plans, unused tokens stay valid for two months from the start of the billing cycle you got them in, and the oldest tokens are used first. If you cancel, all tokens go when the billing period ends. You get unexpired rollover tokens back if you resubscribe before they expire. [2]
- Running out: on Free you can keep making direct edits in Code view, which uses no tokens. On paid plans the cheapest route is a higher tier. Token reloads are only offered on the highest monthly Pro plan or any annual Pro plan. Reload tokens don't expire, and their price depends on your plan. [2]
Hosting costs
Hosting is included. Free covers up to 10 GB bandwidth and 333,333 requests a month across your whole account (Bolt estimates roughly 10,000 to 15,000 visits). Hit the limit and your sites go offline until the next cycle. Every paid plan includes Pro hosting: 30 GB and 1 million requests. You can also turn on pay-as-you-go traffic up to a spending cap you set. [4] Custom domains need a paid plan. [3]
Bolt vs other AI app builders on price
The entry prices are close, so pick by how each tool meters usage. Lovable Pro starts at $25/mo with 100 credits (Lovable pricing). Replit Core is $20/mo or $18/mo billed annually, with usage billed on top (Bolt.new vs Replit). Is the free plan enough?
For a first test, yes. On Oct 21, 2026 we gave Bolt one plain prompt for a small subscription cost tracker on the Free plan. It built a working, clean single-page app in about 5 minutes with no fixes needed. That was a small one-page app, though. A bigger project uses more tokens per message, so you'll hit the 300K daily cap sooner. Details: our Bolt.new test and the same prompt in Bolt.new vs Lovable.
Bolt.new pricing FAQ
Is Bolt.new free?
Yes, there is a Free plan with no card required. It includes 1 million tokens a month with a daily limit of 300,000 tokens, public and private projects, unlimited databases and website hosting on a bolt.host address. Free sites show a Made in Bolt badge, custom domains need a paid plan, and Free tokens don't roll over.
How much is Bolt Pro per month?
$25 a month billed monthly, or $18 a month billed yearly ($216 up front instead of $300). Both include 10M tokens a month that roll over, plus your own domain, no Bolt branding and Pro hosting. Prices are plus applicable taxes.
Why do some sites say Bolt costs $18 and others $25?
Both are right. Bolt's pricing page opens on monthly billing, where Pro is $25/mo. The $18/mo figure is the yearly plan, paid as $216 up front. Teams works the same way: $30 per member monthly or $27 per member yearly ($324 a year).
Do Bolt tokens roll over?
On paid plans, yes. Unused tokens from your monthly allowance stay in your balance for up to two months while your subscription is active, and older tokens are used first. Free plan tokens don't roll over. If you cancel, you lose your tokens when the billing period ends.
What happens when I run out of Bolt tokens?
On the Free plan you can wait for the daily or monthly reset, or keep making direct edits in Code view, which uses no tokens. On paid plans you can move to a higher token tier. Token reloads are available on the highest monthly Pro plan or any annual Pro plan, and reload tokens don't expire.
Is Bolt cheaper than Lovable or Replit?
At the entry level they are close. Bolt Pro is $25/mo or $18/mo yearly, Lovable Pro starts at $25/mo, and Replit Core is $20/mo or $18/mo yearly. What you get differs: Bolt meters tokens, Lovable meters credits and Replit bills usage on top, so the cheapest one depends on how much you build.
