What a credit is
Make says credits are "the currency you buy and consume to use Make" (Make Help: Credits). Make moved from operations to credits as its billing unit; existing operations converted 1:1 and plan prices didn't change (Make Help: Introducing credits).
- Non-AI apps: 1 operation = 1 credit (Credits).
- Third-party AI apps (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini): 1 operation = 1 credit, plus token usage when Make provides the AI connection (Credits).
- Make's own AI Provider and some AI features: credits vary with tokens, file size, pages or run time (Credits).
- No credits: the Router module and error handler modules (Rollback, Break, Resume, Commit, Ignore) (Make pricing FAQ).
- Code app: 2 credits per 1 second of code execution time on paid plans (make.com/en/pricing).
What an operation is
An operation is "a single module run to process data or check for new data". A module runs once per bundle it processes, so sending 5 emails is 5 operations. Trigger modules are the exception: they run once per check, however many bundles they return (Make Help: Operations).
Why schedules matter
Make's own example: a trigger that runs every hour uses 24 credits a day, or 720 a month, before any other module runs; once a day is 30 a month (Make Help: Schedule your scenario). On the Free plan's 1,000 credits, the schedule is often the first thing to check.
Our test, for scale
Our fetch-and-parse scenario returned 73 bundles in one run and used 2 credits (our hands-on test). We didn't measure costs for bigger scenarios, so we don't estimate them here.
Running out
When credits run out, scenarios stop until credits are added. You can upgrade, buy extra credits in bundles of 1,000 or 10,000, or turn on auto-purchase on Core, Pro and Teams. Unused credits expire at the end of the term (Make pricing FAQ).
FAQ
How much does Make cost?
Free is $0 with 1,000 credits/mo. Core is from $9/mo, Pro from $16/mo and Team from $29/mo, each starting at 10,000 credits/mo (make.com).
What is a credit in Make?
The unit you buy and use. For non-AI apps, 1 operation (one module run) is 1 credit; some AI features use more (Make Help).
Are credits the same as operations?
No. Operations count module runs; credits are what you pay. For non-AI apps they're 1:1 (Make Help).
